Resilient Greenfield uses GivePulse Volunteer Management. This is a volunteer community site. Your nonprofit already uses something to manage your volunteers — publicize needs / opportunities, get registrations, compare with attendance, gather data for reporting. Our software does this as well, but much more.
Resilient Greenfield provide an opportunity to compare a new, user-friendly system with the one you use. If you decide to switch and adopt GivePulse, that’s great. It will save you some time to have only one system. But iff you are Community Action or part of some other large agency, you are locked in to your volunteer management software. That’s fine. Many United Way agencies use GivePulse on top of their software because of the recruitment potential: both coordinator-to-members and member-to-member.
Coordinator to Members Recruitment
Unlike all other volunteer management systems we’ve found, GivePulse allows volunteers to see and message each other across sites, inviting each other to new opportunities; and better yet, it makes it easy for volunteer coordinators to recruit new volunteers to meet their needs, filtered by the skills volunteers have identified in their profiles. If you need someone with special skills, just search for the skill, click the names of the people who have it, and send them an in-app invitation to consider volunteering for you.
Since you will be recruiting from volunteers who are now serving elsewhere, you’ll point them to a description of your onboarding process. If they love the idea of serving where their special skills are needed and valued, you may have just found a new valued worker!
Member to Member Peer Recruitment
We believe that all working age adults in Greenfield should be volunteering regularly – not just retirees and high school students. One of the core reasons for Resilient Greenfield is to “increase the pie” by volunteers enlisting their friends. One way that can happen is if volunteers can show up with their friends, combining socializing and volunteering. It may be much easier to invite a friend onto GivePulse so they can see what opportunities exist than to get them to onboard into a particular organization.
Once on GivePulse, members can click on organizations and opportunities and see who has volunteered there before, and then either message the friends they find there or sign up to volunteer where their friends do.
The Mobile App Experience
Like the best VM of its kind, GivePulse has a mobile app that allows site supervisors to view a list of registered volunteers and easily record who actually shows up. The app notifies volunteers who have downloaded it to their phones about new opportunities and reminders for those they have registered for. If your software does not have a mobile app version, you might decide to jump ship. That said, for the period you are on dual systems, there are easy ways to track all volunteers (even those who do not join Resilient Greenfield) using the mobile app, and to import from GivePulse to your system.
Feature-Rich Need/Opportunity Listings
Like other top volunteer management (VM) software , GivePulse is like a real estate Multiple Listing Service, offering a clickable gallery of volunteer opportunities with photos and details that prospective volunteers can choose from. This is not needed if you only have one or two regular needs and your existing volunteers know about them, but once you are reaching outside your base, you want to make your setting and experience attractive to bring in new people. Once a volunteer is interested in an opportunity from the community listing, they can register for your onboarding with a click.
